Divine words awaken the soul
Located in Khidrapur, Maharashtra, Kopeshwar Temple is a stunning blend of ancient architecture, divine devotion, and celestial alignment. Dedicated to Lord Shiva (Kopeshwar) and Lord Vishnu (Dhopeshwar), this temple is renowned for its Swarg Mandap, a unique structure with 48 pillars representing the 12 zodiac signs. This open-roof hall is a rare feature, offering a direct connection with the cosmos, and during Tripurari Poornima (Kartik Purnima), the full moon aligns perfectly with a central window, highlighting the temple’s precision in aligning with celestial events.
At the heart of the temple, the Ranga Sheela, a perfectly circular rock, is believed to have been designed to land UFOs. Its exceptional shape and placement, along with other architectural marvels, raise intriguing questions about its purpose and design. The temple also features intricate sculptures of divine deities, including Lord Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, each symbolizing different aspects of divine energy.
The Garbha Griha, the sanctum sanctorum, houses the sacred Shivling (Kopeshwar), which faces north, and is open for pooja during the morning and evening rituals. The temple’s unique design, cosmic alignments, and spiritual significance make it a must-visit destination for those interested in ancient Indian architecture, spiritual heritage, and celestial phenomena.
